Auburn Rotary was pleased to welcome Rachele Raj, Executive Director of Seattle Veterinary Outreach, as our featured speaker. Rachele shared the important work Seattle Veterinary Outreach is doing to serve unhoused individuals and low-income community members by helping them access veterinary care for their beloved pets.

Seattle Veterinary Outreach was created around the belief that the bond between people and their pets matters deeply, regardless of a person’s housing or financial situation. The organization provides care through mobile clinics that bring veterinary services directly to under-resourced communities, helping families and pets stay together while reducing the financial strain that can make pet care difficult to access.

Their work includes low-cost or free services such as exams, core dog and cat vaccines, rabies vaccines, flea treatment, deworming, and microchipping. Seattle Veterinary Outreach also connects clients with human services, including referrals and support from an on-site social worker, recognizing that animal welfare and human welfare are closely connected.

Seattle Veterinary Outreach serves communities across King and Snohomish counties in partnership with local human service organizations. Through community collaboration, mobile care, and compassionate outreach, the organization helps create healthier and more connected communities for people and pets alike.

Many joined Auburn Rotary for this meaningful program and learned about how Seattle Veterinary Outreach is helping neighbors in need care for the animals who bring companionship, stability, and love into their lives.
