Community Projects

For more than six decades Rotary Club of Auburn has been contributing to the community on various projects. Below are few highlights.

Scholarships to Auburn Students

Since 1983, Rotary Club of Auburn has been granting scholarships to diligent high school graduates in the Auburn School District.

Food Bank

Auburn Rotary donates funds to food banks such as Auburn Food Bank and NW Harvest while also volunteering at their distribution facility.

Earl Averill Memorial Annual Golf Tournament

This tournament is being hosted in honor of Earl Averill, a longtime Auburn Rotarian who supported the youth of our community.

Annual Scholarship Concert

Through this annual concert, The Auburn Rotary Club has been the single biggest donor of scholarships for the Auburn Kids wanting to get a college education. Over $1 million has been raised!

Partners for Work Scholarship

Partners for Work is a Rotary District 5030 Project which we support through Trillium, a non-profit
employment services organization dedicated to help people with disabilities.

Music4Life

We contribute to the funding for music4life, a non-profit that provides donated-and-repaired musical instruments at no charge to public school districts for use by students in-need.

International Projects

For more than six decades Rotary Club of Auburn has been contributing to the community on various projects. Below are few highlights.

Nepal e-library Project

This is one of our club’s signature projects in partnership with the Rotary Club of Chitwan, Nepal building a e-library for Durga Basic School, Pituaji, Nawalparasi, Nepal.

Rotary Club of Auburn, WA, USA and Rotary Club of Chitwan, Nepal successfully completed an

 

e-library project in Durga Basic School, located in Pitauji, Nawalpur district in central Nepal. The goal of the e-library is to provide computer literacy to underprivileged students and the villagers. Durga Basic School is the only school in the Pitauji village where approximately 1,600 people reside, mostly from indigenous and untouchable castes who are deprived of basic education. Now with 16 computer terminals, a smart TV and renovated building students and the villagers can learn the basic computer skills. The e-library was officially handed over to the school administration on December 24th, 2021.

Tanzinia - Solar Power for Twageshe Primary School

Part of a District 5030 grant project to provide electricity to Twegashe Primary School in Bushasha, Tanzinia through solar cells and lithium battery storage.

Nepal - Farming and Micro-lending

A 5030 District Grant project in Nepal – Farming and micro-lending to Tharu indigenous women, a marginalized community. 

Senegal – Water and Food Security

A four-year program to foster economic empowerment, improve food security, and build community self-sufficiency for 1000 people in the village of Mbossedji, Senegal. Led by Bellevue Rotary in partnership with Dakar Millenium Rotary Club

Congo – University Student Scholarships

Funded two university students from Jamaa Letu Orphanage in Democratic Republic of Congo for two years.

Nepal – Feeding the Hungry

Multi-club and multi-district effort to raise $33,333 to provide 100,000 meals to hungry people in Nepal during Covid19 pandemic.

Ethiopia – Water Project

In partnership with the University District Rotary Club, Seattle and Rotary Club of Addis Ababa West to drill well and provide water to the people in rural Ethiopia.
